Can I use a virtual address on my ABN?
The Australian Business Register asks for two kinds of address: a business location and an address for service (your mailing address).
- Your mailing address can be any address where you reliably get mail, and ours works well for that.
- Your business location should be where you actually operate. Whether our address is accurate for that depends on how you run your business, and that’s your call.

Updating the ABR
- Sign up and pass your ID check (about 2 minutes, no extra fee for sole traders).
- Log in to the ABR with your myID.
- Update your address for service, and your business location if that’s appropriate.
- ABN holders must notify changes to their details within 28 days.

Is my ABN address public?
The ABN Lookup shows your state and postcode, not your full street address. But your address often ends up public anyway: on invoices, your website, your Google profile and anywhere you trade.
Do sole traders pay the verification fee?
No. Sole traders do a quick ID check with no extra fee.
What if I work from home?
