Frequently asked questions
Straight answers, including the limits.
Your address
Is it a real street address?
Yes. Your mail is received at a real street address in Preston VIC 3072, in Melbourne's inner north. It isn't a PO Box.
Is the suite a room?
No. "Suite NNNNN" is your mailbox reference. No desk or room is included. It's how we sort your mail to you.
Which address does my plan use?
Suite NNNNN, then the street address, then PRESTON VIC 3072. Business Address and Pro use our Preston mail point; Nameplate uses a second Preston address, where your logo plaque goes on the door. You see the full address once your ID checks pass, and you keep the same suite number if you switch.
ASIC & ABN
Can I use it for ASIC and my ABN?
Yes, on every plan, once your ID checks pass. You can use it as your registered office, your mailing address or your principal place of business. Whether a principal place of business listing is accurate for how you run your business is your call.
Do you provide occupier's consent for a registered office?
Yes. When you're approved, a signed occupier's consent letter is waiting in your dashboard, ready for your records. ASIC requires companies to have the occupier's consent when they don't occupy the address themselves.
Can a public company use your address?
By request only. A public company's registered office has to be open to the public at set hours, so we look at each request individually. Get in touch before signing up.
ID checks
Why do you check ID?
We're required by Australian anti-money-laundering law to verify everyone behind the businesses using our address. It protects you too: nobody can register a company at your suite under a false name.
What ID do I need?
A current Australian driver licence or passport (or an overseas passport), and your phone for a quick selfie check. It takes about two minutes.
Who else needs to verify?
Sole traders: just you. Companies and trusts: the person signing up, plus anyone who owns or controls 25% or more, and company directors. Each person gets their own secure link by email.
What if a check fails?
Your address isn't released and we refund you in full, automatically. If we need more information, we'll ask before making a decision.
Do you open all my mail?
No. We photograph the outside of every envelope and only open what you ask us to scan. Everything else stays sealed until you choose shred, forward or collect.
How fast are scans?
Requests before 2pm on a business day are usually scanned the same day. Scans arrive as PDFs in your dashboard.
Can I pick up my mail?
Yes, from our Preston mail point, Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm. Bring photo ID; we record who collects each item.
Do you accept parcels?
No. We handle letters and documents only, up to Australia Post's large-letter size (260 × 360 × 20 mm, 500 g), including Registered Post and Express Post envelopes. Parcels are refused and go back to the sender, so give suppliers and online stores a different delivery address.
What happens to mail I don't action?
Unopened letters are held for 60 days (we remind you at day 45), then securely shredded.
Can I put this address on Google Maps?
Only on Nameplate, and only if you meet Google's rules. Use your address on Google Maps, provided you meet Google's eligibility rules (signage, staffed hours, meeting clients on site). We'll help with your sign and video verification, but we can't guarantee Google approves your listing.
What about Business Address and Pro?
Those plans don't include a Google Maps listing. You can still appear on Google with a service-area profile, which hides your address. Our step-by-step guide is included.
Billing
Do prices include GST?
Yes. Every price on this site includes GST, and you get a tax invoice for each payment.
Is there a lock-in contract?
No. Business Address and Pro are month to month. Nameplate has a 3-month minimum, then it's month to month.
Is there a sign-up fee?
Sole traders pay nothing extra. Companies and trusts pay a one-off $15 verification fee, refunded if the checks don't pass.
When am I charged?
At sign-up. Your address is released once ID checks pass. If they don't, we refund you in full automatically.
How do I cancel?
From your dashboard, any time. Monthly plans run to the end of the period you've paid for. Remember to update ASIC and the ABR with your new address.
