From 1 July 2026, businesses that provide a registered office or business address are covered by Australia’s anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) laws. That includes us.
We’re required by Australian anti-money-laundering law to verify everyone behind the businesses using our address.
What we check
- Photo ID, with a quick selfie (liveness) check on your phone
- Sanctions and politically exposed person (PEP) screening
- For companies and trusts: everyone who owns or controls 25% or more, and directors
- For companies: a current ASIC company extract
Who has to verify
- Sole traders: just you.
- Companies: the person signing up, directors, and 25%+ owners.
- Trusts: trustees, and the people who control the trust.
Each person gets their own secure link and does the check on their own phone.
How your data is handled
- Checks are run by a specialist identity verification provider.
- We keep verification records for 7 years, as the law requires.
- Records are encrypted, and access is logged.
Details are in our privacy policy and AML/KYC policy.
If a check doesn’t pass
Your address isn’t released, and you’re refunded in full automatically. We may ask for more information first. We can’t always explain every decision.
